Gallery: 76MM Gerry Marshall Trophy – classic saloons battle

18th March 2018
Adam Wilkins

As darkness began to fall on a snowy Goodwood circuit, the Gerry Marshall Trophy cars were in the midst of a close battle.

As you can read in the race report, it was the Ford Escort RS2000 of Mark Blundell and Kerry Michaels that took the honours, but the second-place Capri of Mike Whittaker and Mike Jordan was just a second behind. The Capri spent much of the race inches from the Escort's back bumper and usually sideways. Similar battles were taking place all the way through the field, with contenders including everything from Minis to Camaros.
