2023 Ducati Scrambler revealed

Continuing with its unveiling of its 2023 range, Ducati has pulled the covers off its all-new Scrambler for the next generation of Ducati enthusiasts.

A complete overhaul of the design has taken place for next year, while Ducati says it still retains the key spirit of its predecessors: an easy-to-ride and fun motorcycle with yet more personality through a modernised look.

Three models of Scrambler have been revealed for 2023, each with its own unique style while sharing the relaxed riding position and low weight synonymous with the Scrambler. All three models also benefit from an overall weight reduction of 4kg from the previous model, including 2.5kg shaved through the updated Desmodue engine, and also feature a new 4.3-inch TFT instrumentation.

Ride-by-wire is introduced to the range for the first time, with two selectable riding modes on offer: Road or Wet. Cornering ABS is fitted as standard, as is Ducati Traction Control. A quickshifter is also available as an additional accessory.

The first model, the Icon, offers a fully customisable mixture of bright hues, allowing the rider to tweak the bike to their own personality through the interchangeable tank covers. Three colours come as standard – ‘62 Yellow, Thrilling Black and Ducati Red – while a further six options are added in the shape of accessory kits.

Full Throttle sees Ducati take cues from the US flat track scene, and as well as a sportier look to the colour scheme, comes with adjustable handlebars in a lower position for increased agility. It is also the only Scrambler in the range to be fitted with the quickshifter as standard. Decked out in the GP19 Red/Dark Stealth livery, inspired by the MotoGP bikes of 2019, the Full Throttle also features a shorter and sportier front fender, while the tail goes without a fender altogether. 

Ducati Performance LED indicators, a homologated Termignoni silencer are also fitted as standard to the Full Throttle, while a large number 62 is emblazoned on the sides to commemorate the launch of the first Ducati Scrambler back in 1962.

The final specification, Nightshift, combines the sporty nature of the Full Throttle with a more classic feel. Only available in one colour option, Nebula Blue, is available for the Nightshift, which Ducati says gives a more elegant and sophisticated edge to the Scrambler when combined with the all-black spoked wheels. Stylistically, the Nightshift has smaller LED indicators, a reduced front mudguard, while the rear has no mudguard whatsoever, and side number plates.

Offering more cafe racer features than the other options in the 2023 Scrambler range, the Nightshift offers a straight handlebar – complete with cafe racer style mirrors – and a flatter seat, improving comfort for both rider and passenger.
